Salutations

Welcome to Insincere Sparrow! This blog is designed for the sole purpose of delving into the structure of the fictional world of the Sparrow series (yet to be published). It will examine the royal families, class structure, geography, economics, etc. of the major countries in the series. I will also provide case studies of the main characters.

Shadow Walkers

Shadow Walkers constitute a majority of the population and they are humanoid creatures who have genetic enhancements which allow them certain abilities. They are physically stronger than humans and for the most part enjoy more political power than the humans (except in a handful of countries such as Nacirema). There are five different species of shadow walkers: Dragnairs, Fael, Lycanthropes, Mangus,  and Telekinetics. These five species are also broken down into several smaller classifications (the number of classifications depending solely upon the specific species). It is suggested, however never verified, that certain species also exhibit exaggerated temperaments.
Shadow Walkers, although already physically superior to most humans, do not ascend into the full extent of their power until the age of 18. Most shadow walkers (except the telekinetic shadow walkers) know the full extent of their abilities, however, long before that.
Dragnairs, politically powerful and vastly territorial shadow walkers, control the country of Exila. They are the oldest known Shadow Walker and enjoy the largest numbers. Dragnairs typically remain in a human form; however, they are capable of transforming into either a hybrid human-dragon form or a full dragon form. There are four subspecies of Dragnairs: Petipa, Borzoi, Diaghilev, and Kolpakova. The subspecies are determined by average body temperature, substance the dragnair is able to target opponents with, and color of scales.
Fael, a largely domestic shadow walker, have no strong political standing and prefer to function in smaller villages rather than a large unified country. They answer only to their village leaders but are largely peaceful and have no desire for territorial or political conquest. Fael have the unique ability of manipulating three of the four elements: earth, wind, and water. There are three subspecies: Carbas, Hydras, and Zincas. These subspecies are determined by which element the Fael is capable of manipulating. Lycanthropes, the newest strain of Shadow Walkers, is the first infectious strain which when cross mutated with incompatible species leads to a painful death upon the first mutation. Lycanthropes, although they are scattered across the international community answer only to the Council of Treyton, a Lycan council whose strict rules are to be followed at all times.  Lycanthropes are subject to increased aggression, depending upon their species, during new moon, half moon, or full moon. There are three subspecies: Kage, Songenshi, and Makabre. The subspecies are determined by fur color, period of increased aggression, and physical appearance.
Mangus, the only shadow walker known to rely upon weapons for battle, are largely suspicious creatures. They transform as well, however, their transformation is not limited to one form such as the Lycanthrope or Dragnair forms. There are three subspecies of Mangus: Micromangus, Horitmangus, and Biomangus. The subspecies are determined by physical appearance (prior to transformation), personality, and whether the Mangus transforms into a microbiological organism, biological organism, or vegetation.
Telekinetics, the most vindictive shadow walkers, are unique for the sheer number of subspecies this strain seems to possess. They can manipulate their environment, enemies, and even memories through the powerful use of telekinesis. The subspecies are determined by what the telekinetic is specifically able to do, however determining subspecies can take a long time since telekinetic shadow walkers do not ascend until the age of 18. There are 6 subspecies: Animys, Aucleia, Emanik, Medik, Punctumus, and Vervus.
